Wondering how your mobile website looks on different devices?

Search Engine Optimization takes focused action and planning to create the desired results a business owner is looking for. When looking to optimize your website you always want to consider the target audience, the terms being searched, the reach and the competition within your market. For example, we’ll take a company that is looking to grow it’s online presence in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin market, using solid search engine optimization practices.

Your first action needs to be researching the keyword terms that are actively being searched within the Milwaukee market. This is critical and the foundation of your SEO practices. Many companies or “seo specialist” will actually as you, the business owner “what keywords do you want to rank for”. This is a horrible practice that will always result in a site that ranks for ineffective terms with no search activity.

Finding the appropriate keywords to optimize in the Milwaukee market, takes time and analysis of the discovered terms. Once you compile a large list of the keywords, your goal is to then narrow down the keywords to no more than 2-3 main keywords per page of your website. This process is known as keyword mapping your website to be congruent with the terms and your top targets within the niche.

Milwaukee SEO and other city seo companies who rely on the business owner to perform the keyword research or worse yet, ask them to just write down a list, should be avoided. Once the target keywords have been identified, the next step to successful Search Engine Optimization is completing a competitive analysis. Search engine optimization is like war, you are going to battle, battle to beat out your enemies and hold the top rank within your niche. When stepping onto a battle field you have studied those you are up against. There is no difference here!

Competitive analysis should include:

First page analysis

PR Rank Analysis

Site Depth Analysis (how big is the site)

Site In-Links

Domain Age

Using the above as a guideline will allow you to understand what your competition’s strengths and weaknesses are and more importantly will allow you to make the decision to go after them or not. Following these steps in research will put your company in the right position, whether in Milwaukee or any other part of the world, to implement a successful results oriented search engine optimization campaign.

Some exciting news has been handed down this week in regards to Google+ and Google +1.

Google has finally integrated their two growingly popular social forays. Now when you +1 a page, product or a video, you can share with your Google + groups. You can control which groups recieve your recommendations as well as control the snippets used by following the Schema.org guidelines for + snippets.

As we suspected in earlier speculation, the Google+ integrations will become more and more integral in the social sharing of content going forward. Not to mention its seo functions and traffic driving ability.

Have you integrated yet?

Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn and the list goes on . . . today’s business climate has been rapidly and aggressively changing. Consumers now more than ever are realizing they can have a direct impact on a company through social media. Your social media branding strategy has become a necessity rather than something to do because others are doing it. Next Level profits takes Corporate Social Media Marketing and Branding as serious as we do the development of the companies main website.

What is Social Media Branding?

Simply put, “It is the message your company communicates to the world via social media.”

Now the above statement, while simple in form, is complex in it’s entirety. Creating the right message, the right brand, the right look, the right feel and the right engagement is easier said than done. Building your brand in today’s social market is as important as your relationship with current and past clients. Your message when done right can propel and sustain your business for years, when done wrong can often times mean an unexplainable decline, which unless remedied you will lose control of.

Your voice in social media is created in several ways.

Brand congruent development – your online presence must be congruent in look and feel as well as your online presence as a whole must communicate the same message. Whether that be in Social Media, in Press Releases or your company Website, the message, the mission and the value of the company must remain the same.

Value first – Social Media Branding is about what you do for your community. Are you the “Home Depot” or “Lowes” of your industry? This past weekend my son and I went to Home Depot to get some LED light bulbs. (this is an initiative in our home to reduce energy costs and “do our part” in energy consumption) While walking to the LED isle we passed a group of about 15 customers watching a tile demonstration, learning tips on successful installation, to easily upgrade your back splash in your kitchen. That is the perfect example of value first marketing. Take the “Home Depot” concept into your interaction with your social media presence and engage your followers by adding value in their lives.

Engagement - Part of your social media branding strategy needs to be interacting with those whom you are connected with. Seek input, suggestions, ask for comments and comment back when they provide responses.

Reputation Management - Social media allows you to monitor your brand in the social networks. Find out what others are saying about your company, both good and bad. Remedy the bad and leverage the good.

Leverage Others - This is something that happens only to a small few, usually to those who intentionally follow a plan to create the environment. Build your army, your loyal followers who will battle for you, create social proof for you and at the end of the day over power any negative voice within your social presence.

Work with professionals - This is something that far too many companies fail to do. Often they will have their office manager, traditional marketing employee or other staff “manage” the social media and “attempt” to create a successful presence in the social networks. This is a huge mistake, social media branding when done properly can create substantial ROI, however, when done incorrectly it can just as quickly have an adverse effect.

Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and YouTube are here to stay. Consult with the proper Corporate Social Marketing Strategists and have them evaluate your effectiveness in your space. If you’re not creating results, don’t throw in the towel rather, make the commitment that you’re going to win and build a successful social media brand.

How do you create buyers on facebook? You want to convert your facebook groups, profile pages, and fan pages into sales for your company. Your goal is not to trick people into becoming fans of your pages. Social media has become extremely transparent; people will see through your tricks, so do not have a hidden agenda. If you have a hidden agenda people will see it and will not want to be a part of your facebook groups nor have anything to do with your business.

Don’t be that guy – the guy that walks into a party immediately trying to sell his product. Don’t be the guy who goes out and spams. People will get annoyed and turn away from you and your business. Social media is similar to a party. Provide something of value to your potential customers. If you provide value to people they will come to trust your business and will consequentially purchase products from you. Providing value to your niche is key to your company’s success.

Position yourself – position yourself as an expert. How will you get people to trust you? Especially on the internet. To gain that trust you need to position yourself properly. Become the expert so that customers will have confidence in your business. You want to become the source of credible, quality information. Potential customers will – in their mind – recollect that your business provided quality information on the subject and they will want to buy products from your company because you know what you are talking about, they will also suggest your business to their friends. This will drive more leads and convert more potential customers into sales generating profit for your company.

Know your audience – know who you are speaking to so that you can provide them the right information, the information that is pertinent to them. With that, don’t waste your time on the wrong people. If you continue to market to the wrong people, you will exhaust yourself and waste valuable time and resources. Accept that there will be some people who don’t want to be sold, and avoid them. Talk to the people who desire your product and want to buy from your business. 10% of people love you and your business. 10% will never buy from you. The other 80% are on the fence – provide value to them and capture their attention.

Wrap all your sales in content – this is extremely valuable to social media. For example, if you are giving away a two hour webinar at the end of it you can suggest your website so that people may continue on to your site if they wish to know more. Another example could be, if your company sells supplements, provide a recipe and then if people are missing ingredients they can purchase those ingredients from your business. By providing awesome value in your content, you also pursue a sale.

The 5-1 rule – for every five pieces of content that you give out have one sale. Don’t over sell or people will get burnt out and be turned off.

There is a list of five things that you can go out and implement to drive more leads, more sales, and more profit for your business.

“What an honor to work with such a prestigious brokerage and group of professionals” remarks Josh Valentine, CEO of Next Level Profits. “Their forward thinking and commitment to re-investing in online asset development leveraging new media, is currently and will continue to pay off for many years to come. We are glad to be a part of it and look to really enhance their online presence and lead conversion through proper SEO and Social Domination”

RE/MAX Advantage Plus Owner’s commented by saying, “Over the past 8 years or so we have invested over $200,000 in different website companies and so called experts. Each time with minimal to no results, Next Level Profits finally changed that. Since working with Next Level Profits, we have seen more traffic, more clients and as a result more closings.”

Next Level Profits will first revamp the TwinCityRealty.com look and feel to be more SEO friendly, more user friendly and more content friendly. Integrating the IDX right into the sight will allow potential home buyers a real time search experience and can connect the right agents to the right buyers increasing sales. Look for the new site to launch in mid February with additional content and marketing to follow.

We are going to talk about how to pick the right domain name for your business. If you do not know what a domain name, it is that place on the web on which your site sites. It’s the http://www.yoursitehere.com in the address bar on your Internet browser. So for Next Level Profits, it would be nlprofits.com. Some other examples would be MatRobar.com or HolistikHealth.com. So a few things that you want to consider when picking a domain name are:

Something people can remember -It does not have to thyme or be hokey, but a short, easy to remember domain name will go a long way.

Relate to your niche -Does your domain name speak to the purpose of your site? It should.

Sometimes you need keywords -A keyword rich domain name is often the most powerful form of SEO available and I highly recommend strongly considering buying a keyword rich domain name.

There are really two types of domain names in my mind:

Keyword Domains (rich in keywords like www.BulldogTraining.com)

Found Domains (such as twitter.com –no keywords for the niche here)

So which one should you use?

Well, keywords will give you a lot better search engine optimization and I mean a lot. An example of a keyword domain name would be www.dog-obedience-training-review.com. This domain name is not the easiest name to remember, but it is a big keyword. Dog tips or golden retriever tips would be easier to remember, but would not have the keyword relevance you might be looking for if your focusing on Dog Obedience Training. For most people I always recommend a keyword rich domain name.

A domain name that is ‘found’ or revolving around brand is one that does not contain keywords, an example is Cesar Millan, the ‘Dog Whisperer’, who’s domain name is Cesarsway.com. This domain name does not have any keywords about training dogs, so he has chosen that the Brand (himself) is what he wants to become searchable. There are pros and cons to both types of domain names; if you have a very recognizable brand name, you should use your brand name. Like for example Coca-Cola; one would be able to remember that brand name easily.

But if you’re new to the business, it might be better to use a keyword domain. It is ultimately up to you to weigh the pros and cons of each type. If you are going to be doing any marketing, especially print marketing, try to make the domain name short as more letters equals more money and harder to remember. You need to think of the all the costly measures of a longer domain name; like ink, time, space, etc. You also want something that people can easily remember. The shorter the better, like nlprofits.com; could have been next-level-profits.com.

One last piece of advice to answer a question we get all the time. When it comes to the type of domain like: .com, .org, .net; it is always best to get a .com because the search engines love them and people understand them. Unless you have a specific reason to get a .org or .biz or .net stick with the .com it will just make things a lot easier.
